Rolex is a 100% independent Swiss watchmaker

Rolex watches contain many unique features, and each wristwatch takes about a year to make (sometimes even longer). Amazingly enough, Rolex is a 100% independent Swiss watchmaker. Everything, except for the chronometer test, is done in-house by Rolex. Every movement, every component of each movement, every sapphire crystal glass, every dial, every case, every bracelet, every clasp, every quality test and every water-, shock-, and magnetism resistance test, is done 100% in-house by Rolex. Rolex manufacturing locations scattered over the beautiful Switzerland. The in-house quality control is more than rigorous. The watches do not leave the factory unless they are absolutely perfect.

The movement

Rolex movements are very accurate, robust, serviceable and durable. Each Rolex movement is made up of hundreds of carefully manufactured components which guarantees long-term high performance. The Rolex movement accuracy must fufill the criteria set by COSC – the Official Swiss Chronometer Testing Institute. The level of perfection that Rolex aims to achieve ensures that every single watch withstands the test of time.

Unique characteristics 

The Oyster case- Rolex’s unique watch case, was invented in 1926 and was the world’s first waterproof case for a wristwatch. Regardless of construction material – steel, gold, or platinum – the case is robust and waterproof and guarantees the movement protection from the elements; Some of the Rolex sports watches including the Rolex replica Sea-Dweller, Rolex Submariner and Rolex Daytona watches feature something called the Triplock winding crown seal. This is an extra seal in the threads of the winding crown’s tube, and can be viewed when the winding crown is unscrewed; In 1985, Rolex started using the 904L stainless steel alloy, which is one of the toughest steel grades you can find today.
