To pay homage to Benvenuto Cellini and the sculptors and goldsmiths of Renaissance popes and kings, Rolex has created a collection of watches engraved with the master's name, called the Cellini Collection. Watchmaking has moved from the personal domain of a single craftsman to a professional collaboration of qualified technicians. Each Rolex Cellini collection is the perfect combination of expertise and exquisite craftsmanship.

The watches all feature a precious metal case with a diameter of 39mm, and the Neo Cellini is the gentleman in a tuxedo of Rolex watches. The Neo Cellini case is slimmer, more formal than the Datejust, and it's the first time a more traditional Oyster-style case has been designed. In fact, the replica Rolex Cellini collection has long been an oddity in the Rolex world - it has no Oyster case. That means it's only water resistant to 50 meters, although in many ways it's extremely durable over a long period of time. Of course, the most striking "Oyster" style of the Neo Cellini is characterized by the narrow toothed ring and the Oyster bottom.

The working method of the new Cellini series watch is very simple. Rolex's dual time zone watch movement is based on adding modules to the base movement produced by Rolex. The hour, minute and second hands of the main dial indicate the local time. The sub-dial has a second pair of hour and minute hands to indicate "home time" or "second time zone time". Additionally, there is a small window at 9 o'clock to show the local time AM/PM indication, as the subdial time is 12 o'clock, and the Rolex GMT II or Explorer II has an indication of 24 hours. The small window shows the sun for the morning and the moon for the afternoon.

But the New Cellini is still a great watch and could have serious implications for competitors. As we all know, Rolex hasn't focused on real dress watches for a long time. With the introduction of the new Cellini series, Rolex is once again getting back to real watch competition in a serious way, and it will do just fine.
