Remarkable Movement of Explorer
The movement on brand new Rolex Explorer II is Cal.3285, which has a 70-hour power reserve and Chronergy escapement that was designed for optimum efficiency. And the pallet lever and escape wheel are also made of a nickel-phosphorus alloy, giving them improved magnetism resistance. The movement is rated to keep time to within two seconds a day, fast or slow, as all current Rolex movements are.
In addition, there is slight difference between the old design and new version.
NO.1 Adjustment on Bracelet
Like always, the new-generation Explorer II come with an Oyster bracelet. The overall visual proportion s of the whole watch had been adjusted by narrowing the lugs, and then slightly increasing the width of chain.
The Oyster bracelet on this new watch features the Rolex-designed Oyster-lock folding safety clasp, which prevents accidental opening. Still, the Easy-link comfort extension link has been equipped inside the clasp, which allows the wearer to easily adjust the bracelet length by approximately 5mm.
No.2 Adjustment of Hands on the Dial
On the white lacquer dial, The outer frame of the hour marker is changed from shiny to matte – whose black coating is applied using PVD. and the relatively low-key gloss is more in line with the image of Explorer II's tool watch. The hands and hour markers are coated or filled with a luminescent material that emits a long-lasting blue glow in dark conditions.
No.3 Rolex Logo was Added on 6 O’/Clock
Rolex's crown logo with the word SWISS MADE on the dial at 6 o'clock. Although there are no surprises in the revision, it maintains the essence of Explorer II's image and upgrades with the pace of the brand.
